Trump and MAGA are dominant.

Not with voters. There they’re actually losing 2:1 and are down with every demographic and on every political issue.

And not geopolitically. They’re they are mired in a war of choice with overspent munition stores, a stubborn enemy, and imploding alliances.

Aaaaaand not economically. They’re they are watching inflation rise, prices spike, wages stagnate, and consumer sentiment crater.

But they are dominant in the attention economy for two reasons.

1) They are doing what political scientists call “insane sh*t” and that merits attention.

2) The Press, still holding two two of their core1 beliefs,2 give MAGA 50+1% of all attention.

Eventually, though, this will all snap. Whatever causes the moment, Donald Trump will not be in the White House. They will not be dominant. The GOP will not have political control. They will want to get that power back and - more immediately - they will want to avoid the consequences of their actions. That will be too late for them, because:

OMGREG CANON LAW #2:

THE SECOND TRUMP LOSES POWER IS THE SECOND IT’S TOO LATE TO ABANDON HIM.

That’s the cutoff. Because after that it’s easy. After that it’s simply people following the wind, saving their own behinds, and saying what they know those in power want to hear.

A politician, a pundit, a personal connection — if they wanna get back in, they gotta do it now. Because ooh baby are those floodgates gonna be full after the gravy train’s gone.

1  People in power must be both smart and well-intentioned because they are in power.

2  Every issue has two opposite but equally valid and moral sides.
