Piece of Tape You Need To Have Seen (Or At Least Listened To): Cumberland County (Maine) Sheriff Kevin Joyce gave a 20-minute press conference after one of his Corrections Officer recruits was taken by ICE. He criticizes their overbroad mandate, their show-of-force tactics, their shoddy law enforcement work, and their seemingly intentional cruelty.

This is striking because it is yet another head of a law enforcement department publicly criticizing ICE’s mission, methods, and total lack of professionalism. Not lib activists, not hair-dyed baristas, not Don Lemon in a church. These are cops, who are increasingly saying the same thing: ICE are a bunch of bush league, racially-profiling numbnuts who are doing something, but it’s not respectable law enforcement work.

At this point, it’s really undeniable that ICE is a private army for the President, used as shock troopers to terrorize anyone who looks brown or votes blue.
